Accident Victim Edward Yebra, Dacula, Gwinnett County, In Coma After Being Dragged By Truck

A 16-year-old metro Atlanta student remained in a coma Thursday at Gwinnett Medical Center, after he was dragged while hanging onto a truck, according to witnesses.

Edward Yebra, 16, also of Dacula, is hospitalized in a coma after being dragged by a truck driven by the suspects. Police have arrested the suspects on several charges and are being held in Gwinnett County Detention Center.

Police say Yebra went outside to talk to the two men in the truck and began fighting with them. The next thing friends seen was Yebra being dragged by the truck. He was found several feet up the road and still remains in a coma.

This accident is right down the street from our office.   Our prayers goes out to the victim and his family and friends.  The family should seek legal representation immediately to protect their rights to punish to the fullest extent for this act of inhumane behavior.

Teens mourn Cobb athlete killed in wreck

Hundreds of teenagers crowded into Marietta’s West Cobb Funeral Home on Monday night to mourn Garrett Reed, a Harrison High athlete killed in a Saturday car wreck.  Garrett Reed crossed over the double lines and hit a vehicle head on, he died at the scene.  The other driver suffered broken knee cap and torn tendons in the legs. He is resting at his home.  Nearly 800 people had stopped by for Reed’s visitation. The crowds were so large that visitors were routed to nearby Macland Church of Christ, and shuttle buses transported family and friends to the funeral home. The funeral for Reed is at 2 p.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church in Powder Springs.

Tragic accident claims the life of Austin Johnson, Blackshear

Two Blackshear Georgian men lost their lives and another was seriously injured in a traffic accident Thursday night in the Beulah Church Community.

William C. “Billy” Patterson 36, and Austin Johnson, 31, died in the accident, which occurred about 7 p.m. Thursday on Little Hurricane Creek Road.

Benny Sweat, 27, of Blackshear suffered injuries in the crash. According to the accident report, Patterson was driving a 1998 Ford Explorer north on the Little Hurricane Creek Road near its intersection with Davis Road. The vehicle went off the road, overturned several times over a distance of 66 feet and then struck a tree. Patterson was ejected from the Explorer.

DUI Driver in a hits and run accident leaving a pedestrian died

DeKalb County police say they arrested a motorist last Saturday in connection with a deadly hit-and-run accident involving a pedestrian on a highway near the North Druid Hills community.

The DUI driver was charged with first-degree vehicular homicide, felony hit-and-run and driving under the influence.

The incident occurred shortly before 6 a.m. Saturday in the northbound lanes of Buford Highway between Corporate Boulevard and North Cliff Valley Way.

Durant said the victim, an adult male whose name was not available, was crossing Buford Highway when he was hit by a vehicle that fled the scene.

Authorities Thursday were investigating a fatal early-morning wreck on I-85 south of Atlanta.

Snellville woman, 61, dies in crash with police car

A Snellville woman was killed Monday morning when her car was hit by a patrol car driven by a Gwinnett County police officer.

Our prayers go out the family in this troubled time.  Also to the police officer who was driving at the time.  Our hope is that this was just a tragic accident.  Our firm works out of Duluth which is very close to Snellville

Victim identified in Moreland Ave. fatal wreck

The Fulton County Medical Examiner’s office on Friday identified the motorist killed in a Thursday morning wreck on Moreland Avenue as Willie McDowell, 46, of Atlanta.

Our prayers go out the family in this sad time.  From reports it looks like Mr. McDowell was taking a left hand turn and was struck by another vechile.  The driver of that other vechile was taken to the hospital.  There was no word on any contributing factors to this sad accident.

DUI Man in jail after car flips, ejects passenger

A 21-year-old Aiken man is in jail for felony Drunk Driving after he lost control of a sport utility vehicle Friday afternoon and his passenger was ejected, state troopers say.

We hope that this drunk driver’s passengers is not to seriously injured.  The passenger would be entitled to compenstation from his injuries and even punitive damages for that reckless behavior.
