DUI Driver in a hits and run accident leaving a pedestrian died
DeKalb County police say they arrested a motorist last Saturday in connection with a deadly hit-and-run accident involving a pedestrian on a highway near the North Druid Hills community.
The DUI driver was charged with first-degree vehicular homicide, felony hit-and-run and driving under the influence.
The incident occurred shortly before 6 a.m. Saturday in the northbound lanes of Buford Highway between Corporate Boulevard and North Cliff Valley Way.
Durant said the victim, an adult male whose name was not available, was crossing Buford Highway when he was hit by a vehicle that fled the scene.
This accident is right down the street from one of our partners who lives in that area. Our prayers go out the family of the victim. The family should seek legal representation immediately to protect their rights.
Ernst and Park LLC has represented families in tragic times like this. We hope that an insurance company will not try to make the family a victim again by withholding on what little compensation the family is entitled to for the lost of their family member.
